Shane is an experienced civil and criminal barrister, with a focus on regulatory prosecutions.

He previously practised at Russell McVeagh and Bell Gully, acting for private and public clients on complex civil and regulatory matters involving fair trading, health and safety, insurance and general commercial issues. He also worked at the Auckland Crown Solicitor’s office as a Crown prosecutor, conducting jury trials and appeals involving allegations of serious violence, drugs, sex and fraud.  

Shane has prosecuted on behalf of a number of regulators including the Commerce Commission, Maritime New Zealand and WorkSafe.

Shane is an accomplished advocate. He regularly appears at all Court levels in New Zealand including the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
